7 Day Diet Meal Plan

          7 Day Diet Meal Plan. A diet might seem limiting to some, time-consuming to others, and downright unappealing (no rice cakes, please!) to the rest of us. But before you pull out one of these excuses, we dare you to try this healthy menu. Yes, you may have to buy new things at the grocery store or get crafty in the kitchen, but if you're really up for losing weight, it's worth the effort.
          Lisa MacDonald, nutrition manager at Miraval Life in Balance, a destination spa in Tucson, Arizona, created this menu of nutrient-rich meals, balancing carbs with protein and fat in every bite. And if you love one meal, feel free to eat it seven days a week!
To figure out the right portion size, use these approximations from the American Dietetic Association:
  • 1 teaspoon = the tip of your thumb to the first joint
  • 3 ounces of meat = a deck of cards
  • 1 cup of pasta = a tennis ball
  • 1/2 cup of veggies = a lightbulb
  • 1 1/2 ounces cheese = three dominoes
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter = a ping-pong ball

DAY 1

Breakfast: Nutty Toast
2 slices of whole-grain or sprouted-grain bread, toasted and smeared with 1 tablespoon nut butter (almond butter, peanut butter, etc.)
1 large grapefruit or orange

Lunch: Very Veggie Salad
1 cup of spinach
2 cups of mixed veggies
1/2 cup of black-bean-and-corn salsa (bought or homemade)
2 tablespoons of feta cheese
1 small whole-grain roll
Men: Add a couple of ounces of chicken, pork, or beef. Or, if you're not into salads, you can substitute with another lunch choice below.
Snack: Cheese, Please
1 ounce of low-fat cheese (a slice of 2 percent American or a piece of mozzarella string cheese)
1 small handful of whole-grain crackers
1 small piece of fruit
Men: Add 2 more small handfuls of crackers.
Dinner: Perfect Pair -- Spaghetti and Meatballs
1 cup of pasta mixed with tomato sauce or olive oil and garlic
4 ounces of turkey meatballs or another low-fat meatball
1 cup of veggies
Snack: Free Fruit
1 cup of fruit, like melon or berries
Men: Add 1/2 cup of frozen yogurt.

DAY 2

Breakfast: Naner Love
1 cup of whole-grain, high-fiber cereal (like Kashi or Barbara's)
1 banana
1 cup of low-fat milk or yogurt

Lunch: Tuna Sammie
2 slices of whole-grain bread
3/4 cup of tuna (or chicken) salad, made with light mayo
1 cup of sugar snap peas, carrots, and celery (or any veggies other than starchy ones like peas, potatoes, and corn)
1 cup of fruit, like melon or berries
Snack: Trail-mix Fix
2 tablespoons of dried fruit (cranberries, apricots, blueberries)
2 tablespoons of almonds or sunflower seeds
Men: Add another 2 tablespoons of dried fruit.
Dinner: South of the Border Quesadilla
2 corn tortillas (crisped in an oven using small amount of spray oil)
1/2 cup of nonfat vegetarian refried beans
1 ounce of shredded low-fat cheese
Layer each ingredient in between the crisp tortillas and bake the dish in a 360-degree oven for 5 minutes. Top with lettuce or cabbage, tomatoes, onions, pared cucumber, and salsa.
Men: Add a couple of ounces of grilled chicken, pork, or beef.
Snack: Frozen Delight
1/2 cup of fat-free, no-sugar-added frozen yogurt

DAY 3

Breakfast: Berry-meal
1 cup of oatmeal with 1 cup berries
2 tablespoons of nuts or seeds

Lunch: Turkey Roll-up
1 medium tortilla
2 ounces of turkey breast
1 ounce of low-fat cheese
1 cup of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish, and celery (or the veggies of your choice) stuffed inside or served on the side, depending on your mood
Snack: Cottage Crunch
1/2 cup of cottage cheese mixed with 3 tablespoons of low-fat granola and 1 cup of fruit
Men: Add a handful more of granola.
Dinner: Couscous Yum-yum
1 cup of couscous pilaf
4 ounces of chicken
1 cup of steamed veggies
Men: Add 2 or 3 more ounces of chicken.
Snack: Fruit Is Your Friend
1 cup of melon or berries
Men: Add 1/2 cup of yogurt or frozen yogurt and 1/2 cup more of fruit.

DAY 4

Breakfast: Perfect Parfait
1/2 cup of granola or Mueslix cereal
1 cup of diced melon, peaches, or apples (your fave fruit)
1 cup of low-fat yogurt or milk

Lunch: Couscous Redo
1 cup of couscous pilaf (left over from night before; served hot or cold)
3 ounces of chicken breast
1 cup of steamed veggies
Men: Add a couple more ounces of chicken.
Snack: Mediterranean Munchies
1/2 of a whole-wheat pita
1/4 cup of hummus (or another bean spread)
1/2 cup of grapes or another fruit
Men: Eat a whole pita.
Dinner: Sensible Salmon
1 medium baked sweet potato or 1 cup of baked new potatoes
3 ounces of grilled salmon
1 cup of steamed veggies
Men: Add 2 or 3 more ounces of salmon.
Snack: Straight-up Chocolate
1 ounce of dark chocolate (the really good stuff)

DAY 5

Breakfast: Egg-cellent Choice
1/4 cup of cooked egg substitute or 1 scrambled egg
1/3 cup of sauteed potatoes

Top with salsa and roll up in a small flour tortilla.

Men: Add another egg.
Lunch: Crunchy Grilled Cheese
2 slices of whole-grain bread
1 ounce of cheese (1 slice); any cheese will do, but try something new, like Gouda, for fun
1 or 2 chipotle chile peppers
1/4 of a tart apple, sliced
Place cheese, chipotle, and apple between the slices of bread. Lightly spread butter substitute on outside of bread and place in a saute pan on low heat until cheese starts melting. Flip after about 2-3 minutes so both sides get browned.
1 cup of carrots, celery, radishes, cucumber, and/or cherry tomatoes on the side
Snack: Go Granola
1 cup of chopped fruit or 1 large piece of fruit
1 cup of low-fat yogurt
3 tablespoons of low-fat granola
Men: Add a few more spoonfuls of granola.
Dinner: Chicken with a Twist
1 cup of cooked brown rice
2 ounces of chicken breast, sliced and stir-fried with 1 cup of veggies
1/2 cup of edamame (fresh soy beans)
Men: Add a couple more ounces of chicken.
Snack: Movie Food
1 1/2 cups of light popcorn (no butter)

DAY 6

Breakfast: Start Simple
1 medium whole-grain pita
1 cup of low-fat cottage cheese
2 tablespoons of dried fruit

Lunch: Asian Chicken Salad
2 cups of shredded lettuce
1/2 cup of mandarin oranges
2 ounces of shredded chicken
2 tablespoons of sliced almonds
1 tablespoon of light salad dressing
1 small whole-grain roll
Men: Add a couple of extra ounces of chicken.
Snack: Go Nuts
1 slice of whole-grain bread
1 tablespoon of nut butter (peanut, almond, etc.)
1 cup of grapes or another fruit, or 1 banana
Men: Eat two slices of bread.
Dinner: Pizza with Pizzazz
2 medium-size slices of homemade thin-crust veggie pizza (use whole-wheat dough or an English muffin, and top with 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce and 1 ounce of low-fat cheese)
1 cup of spinach or mixed greens salad
2 teaspoons of a light vinaigrette
Snack: Pick a Fruit, Any Fruit
1 cup of melon or berries or 1/2 cup of another fruit
Men: Add 1/2 cup of yogurt or frozen yogurt.

DAY 7

Breakfast: The Tasty Trio
2 slices of whole-grain or sprouted-grain bread
2 scrambled eggs or 1/2 cup of egg substitute
1 cup of berries or melon

Lunch: Tofu Sandwich (don't knock it til you've tried it)
1 medium whole-grain pita
3 ounces of tofu (or 1/4 cup of hummus)
1 cup of sliced radish, cucumber, onion, lettuce, and carrot
1 cup of melon or berries or 1/2 cup of other fruit
Snack: Trail Mix
2 tablespoons of dried fruit
2 tablespoons of nuts or seeds
Men: Add another 2 tablespoons of dried fruit.
Dinner: Choose Your Protein
1 cup of barley apple salad (1 cup of cooked barley or any other whole grain, mixed with 1/2 of a diced apple)
4 ounces of grilled chicken, fish, beef, or pork tenderloin
1 cup of steamed veggies
Snack: Cookie (Moderation) Monster
2 small cookies

Diet to Clear Acne

          If you suffer from acne, you definitely have tried many ways to get rid of it - lots of lotions, creams, pills and home remedies. But in the end only the one solution sounds reasonable - you need diet to clear acne!
          So, this article is going to provide you with some information of what should this diet include. I am going to tell you what my diet contains and you will be able to get the valuable information for you.
          My way to cure acne is to provide my body with lots of vitamins and minerals. I do it with eating lots of fruits. I prefer green ones like kiwi or apples, because they have a little amount of sugar. Okay, anyway, here I am going to put my example for a diet to cure acne:
          Morning: Some grain bread with low-fat butter and cucumbers/tomatoes. Sometimes I eat cheese instead of the vegetables. I personally don't drink coffee, but if you do, just try to drink 2 cups for the day at most. I drink tea for breakfast. it's best if it's green tea.

          Lunch: My favorite lunch meal is lettuce with tuna fish. it's best, because the tuna gives me the needed fatty acids and the vegetables give me an iron an lots of vitamins at the same time. It's my favorite meal, but I love to try some other things - I often eat some vegetables like broccoli with red meat or with chicken. The point here is to choose some food that has more proteins than fats. I also eat for lunch turkey meat with vegetables - carrots or tomatoes.
          Dinner: in the dinner meal I include the same foods as in the lunch. What I do is to change it every day. For example if I eat tuna fish and lettuce for lunch, I eat something else in the evening. It's important to remember that you have to eat less in the evening, so your organism can take all the vitamins and process them.
          What else I do? Well, I drink a lot of water - at least 8-10 cups a day. And I don't drink it at once - I'm just trying to make it natural when i am drinking water through all the day. It's a good thing and you should do it, too!
          Now, remember that this diet to clear acne is mine and worked on my organism, so it can work on your too, but it also cannot work. So the best thing you can do is to try some different meals and after some while, to choose what is best for you! Wish you luck!

The ideal time to start light exercises is about six weeks after giving birth and as you stick with it you can move up to higher impact routines such as strength training and cardiovascular activities which will help to tighten and tone those parts that got "loose" after giving birth.
6. Be Patient
Last but not least, you need to be patience with yourself. It took 9 months for your baby to grow and develop and cause that extra weight on your belly and bottom. You can't expect your body to bounce back in just a few short weeks, even if you are following a postpartum weight loss diet plan for women. Getting back into shape will take eating the right foods, consistent physical activity and most importantly...time. A good support system always helps so ask for it!           Another Monday is upon us and it's time to get ready for work. Perhaps you woke up late so now you are thinking about skipping on breakfast! Stop, rewind and reconsider. This is a mistake! Don't do it! Before you do another thing, let me share some information with you that will INSPIRE you to do better and eat your breakfast in the morning! In this post, you are going to learn about what the body does when you skip the most important meal of the day. You will learn why it's best to turn yourself into a grazer and eat small meals throughout the day and you will learn that by making small adjustments you too can get back to your ideal body weight!
          I remember back in my grandparents day, hearing stories about the great depression. Back then because times were so tough, they would save and store as much as they could because they did not know if the money or food would be there in abundance in the future, so the best thing to do back then was to save and store. Well that was just fine back then for there was a purpose for storing and saving! When it comes to your health and nutrition, however, we don't want to take the same approach as our grandparents did in the depression! No, instead, when it comes to living a happy well balanced healthy lifestyle, we must do what we can so the body does not store and save the food we eat. That is why we MUST eat our breakfast!

          Did you know, that people who eat a balanced meal consisting of whole foods, fruits and vegetables, tended to weigh less than people who skipped out on breakfast in the morning? Yes, this is true. You are typically going to weigh more and have a harder time keeping the weight off if you skip on breakfast, rather than having a nice balanced meal in the morning and eating smaller meals more often throughout the day!
Here's the reason why. Have you ever tried to take a trip across the country on a quarter tank of gas? Of course not, you know that you would never make it! The same can be said about your body. The body performs much better when it is supplied with the right fuel. When you skip on breakfast, your body goes into a hibernation mode, and when you do eat, it will store the food instead of use it as fuel. Acne Homemade Remedies

          One of the first things people consider when they have acne is to go to the doctor and try to treat it that way. What most people don't realize is that there are a lot of homemade remedies that can treat acne. Often times, these are much cheaper than the expensive antibiotics that the doctors prescribe. More importantly, though, these homemade remedies are easier on the skin and are very easy to make. Typically, they're just things that are found around the house. Before getting an expensive prescription, try any of these acne homemade remedies.
  • Take orange peels and grind it with a small amount of water. You want to get a paste from this grinding. Once the grinding has resulted in a paste, apply it both on and around the pimples on your face.
  • Take groundnut oil and mix it with an equal amount of lime juice. It has to be freshly squeezed from the lime, not purchased in a bottle. Take this mixture and apply it to your face. Leave it for about fifteen minutes and then wash it off. Daily application helps prevent the formation of blackheads and pimples.
  • Take a few drops of tea tree essential oil and apply it to the affected areas with a cotton ball. Don't rub, though, because that will cause the acne to get irritated.
  • Take freshly cut garlic and rub it onto the affected area right before going to bed. The smell is strong, so doing it right before bed makes it so it doesn't bother anyone. It dries up the acne completely.
  • Mix cornstarch with vinegar so that you get a paste. Plaster the mixture onto the areas that are affected by acne for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the severity. Using a washcloth and warm water, gently remove the paste. This will get rid of blackheads.
  • Combine one egg white with a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Apply it to your face like a mask and wait for twenty minutes. Using warm water, rinse the mask. This helps to remove oils from the skin and clear it up.
  • Taking a cucumber peel (wet side up), rub it onto your face where the acne is and leave it for the night. Sleep with it there and in the morning, take a shower to clear it off. This is a sure cure for acne.
          There are so many homemade remedies to treat and cure acne that people have written entire books on it. However, these are some well known remedies. In the end, having healthy skin requires treating it with respect. Wash it with safe soaps and use masks to get rid of dead skin and oils. Maintaining healthy skin is the best way to treat acne.
